She wasn't just claiming to be sniffly around them, but was insisting to the airport employees that she was seriously allergic to them. Well, whether she's exaggerating or faking or truly allergic, the airline employees have to take that seriously. I think the traveler thought she would get extra special treatment, but that's not exactly how things went down.
